A. To Download and Install.

Step A1: Download the client software.

Tiger OS (Intel/PPC)

Step A2: The client only supports Mac OS-X (Darwin). Click to download the client above and the download manager will begin to show the progress of the download. Once it is finished downloading, double-click the newly downloaded file and chose "reveal in finder" from the pop up dialog. Double-click on the file "CiscoVPN" to begin the installation of the client. Follow the on-screen instructions and select the default settings for all options. You can find configuration instructions in the Configuration section below.

Step B1: In Darwin, start the newly installed client software called "Cisco VPN". You can find the application icon in the Dock. Click on the "New..." button. On the pop up dialog box, enter a name for this connection. We recommend using "CU-NYP-VPN". You do not need a description but you may enter one of you chose. Enter the IP address of the VPN concentrator. The IP address for the CPMC Campus VPN Concentrator is 156.111.224.55 and the IP address for the WMC Campus VPN Concentrator is 140.251.204.227. In the "Authentication" tab, "Group Authentication", "Name:", please enter the Group Name, in lower case. In the "Authentication" tab, "Group Authentication", "Password:", please enter Group Password, in lower case. You can obtain the Group ID and Password from the Helpdesk.

Step C1: Connect to your internet service provider (ISP). Click on "VPN" in your Dock. Then click "Connect", you will be prompted for your username and passsword. Enter your NYP LDAP Username and Password. Then click "OK".
Note: Your NYP LDAP Username and Password are identical to those of your Amicas (West), Epic (West), and WebCIS accounts. If you have never used these applicatons, you must change your initial password before connecting to the VPN.

D. To Confirm Your Connection.

Step D1: You can test your VPN connection by visiting Infonet. Infonet is not accessable from outside the NYP network. If you see Infonet on your web browser, your VPN connection is working properly.
