| To install and setup your VPN client, please follow these steps. |
| |
| A. To Install. |
| |
| Step A1: Download the client software. |
| |
| Step A2: Click "Save" to save it on to your hard drive. |
| |
|
| |
| Step A3: Go to the folder where you saved the downloaded file and click on the "EAST CAMPUS" icon to install. |
| |
|
| |
| Step A4: Please click "Next" to continue. |
| |
|
| |
| Step A5: Please click "Finish" to continue. |
| |
|
| |
| Step A6: This window appears while the software updates your computer's network settings. |
| |
|
| |
| Step A7: At the end of the installation you will have to restart your computer. Please select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now", then click "Finish". You have completed your VPN installation. |

| |
| B. To Connect. |
| |
| Step B1: Connect to your internet service provider (ISP). Click on "Start", "Programs", "VPN, (WEILL CORNELL & NYP) VPN Client", then "VPN Client". |

| |
| Step B2: Click "Connect". |
| |
|
| |
Step B3: Enter your NYP LDAP Username and Password. Then click "OK".
Note: Your NYP LDAP Username and Password are identical to those of your Amicas (West), Epic (West), and WebCIS accounts. If you have never used these applicatons, you must go to the URL https://webcis.cpmc.columbia.edu/auth/cgi/auth.cgi to change your initial password before connecting to the VPN. |

| Step B4: Click "Continue" if you see this window, your connection is successful. You are connected to the NYP network. |

| C. To Confirm Your Connection. |
| |
| Step C1: You can test your VPN connection by visiting Infonet. Infonet is not accessable from outside the NYP network. If you see Infonet on your web browser, your VPN connection is working properly. |
| |
| Step C2: To confirm your VPN status you can double click the lock symbol in the lower right corner of your screen. You will see this window. Click "OK" to continue. |

| Step C3: To verify which networks or hosts you have access to, click on the "Statistics" tab. |
| |
|
| |
| |
| D. To Disconnect. |
| |
| Step D1: To disconnect from the VPN, right click on the lock symbol in the lower right corner of your screen, then click "Disconnect". You are disconnected for the NYP network |

| |
| E. For Advanced Users with a Local LAN. |
| |
| Step E1: Go to the connection window, then click "Options". |
| |
|
| |
| Step E2: In the "General" tab, check off "Allow local LAN access". You will be able to access the VPN and your LOCAL LAN simultaneously. |
